Dr. Jacob F. Tischer, the new “Global Taiwan Chair” at CU FA, will focus on one of the nodal points of the contemporary world in his course in the summer semester 2024/25. He will introduce students to the historical roots of Taiwanese politics in the context of popular culture and everyday life. The language of instruction is English.
At the invitation of CU Rector Milena Králíčková, the Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa visited Charles University on Thursday, 6 February 2025. Together they discussed the possibilities of deepening cooperation between Charles University and the University of Coimbra. The validity of the Charles University ID card or licence is not a condition for using library services – for example, it is not necessary to renew the ISIC licence on the physical card every year. You cannot use these services without a physical card.
Charles University has secured funding for an ambitious project called "Colonial Legacies of Universities: Materialities and New Collaborations" (COLUMN). This initiative is co-financed by the EU Horizon Europe Programme and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SERI). The first phase will be coordinated by Prof. Markéta Křížová from CU FA.
