Burak Hilmioglu M.A. is a lecturer at the Department of Middle Eastern Studies. He is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Translation Studies with ongoing comparative research on literature translated from English to Turkish. He earned his bachelor’s degree in American Culture and Literature at Bilkent University in 2010 and his master’s degree in Translation Studies at Atılım University in 2015 in Turkey. In his MA thesis, he explored the role of gender in the process of translation based on his own interdisciplinary research. Besides Turkish and English, he is fluent in German. His research interests mainly combine linguistics and cultural elements.
