The Department of Middle Eastern Studies cooperates with a number of foreign specialists who often repeatedly give guest lectures at our seminars and lectures organized by our department not only for the department’s students, but also for students of other studies at CUFA, academia, and the general public.

Since 2017, our department holds in cooperation with the Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences a periodic series of lectures by foreign specialists called Middle East Lecture Series.

In the spring term of 2019/2020, the department is hosting a visiting professor Joseph M. Davis from Gratz College in Philadelphia. Joseph M. Davis is a professor of Jewish thought and he is visiting Charles University for a period of three months, teaching a course on Early Modern Judaism.
