Shrnutí přednášky: Dr.Eylem Özkaya’s intervention focuseson hunger strikes in prisons between 1960 and 2010 by organizations of theradical left in Turkey. It presents an analysis at three levels: macro, mesoand micro. Thus, to understand the emergence of this phenomenon, one must firstunderstand the context, that is to say a brief historical overview of Turkey.This historical overview will be followed by the changes in the Turkish prisonsystem and the change in the repertoire of political action within the prisons.Finally, the internal and external factors leading to the involvement ofconcrete actors will be analyzed.
