An exhibition titled “Al-Andalus en el Mashriq” is being held at the Casa del Chapiz (Escuela de Estudios Árabes, SCIC) in Granada from May 11 to June 11, 2026.
The team of authors also included Dr. Josef Ženka and our PhD student Karolína Švandová, each of whom created a panel for this exhibition presenting the Andalusians and their cultural output in the Muslim East.
Dr. Ženka’s panel focuses on the oldest preserved original Andalusian fatwa in the world, a fatwa from Damascus dating back to the mid-14th century.
Colleague Švandová contributed a panel on an Andalusian poet who spread Andalusian poetry throughout the Mamluk territories of Egypt and the Levant and died in the early 15th century in Ottoman territory.
